text-decoration: none;">के आक्रमण से देश के लिए संकट पैदा हो गया था। धननंद का सौभाग्य था कि वह इस आक्रमण </del>से <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">बच गया। यह कहना कठिन है कि देश की रक्षा का मौक़ा पड़ने पर नंद सम्राट यूनानियों को पीछे हटाने में समर्थ होता या नहीं। </del>[[<del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">मगध</del>]] के <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">शासक </del>के <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">पास विशाल सेना अवश्य थी, किन्तु जनता का सहयोग उसे प्राप्त नहीं था। प्रजा उसके अत्याचारों से पीड़ित थी। असह्य कर-भार के कारण राज्य के लोग उससे असंतुष्ट थे। देश को इस समय एक ऐसे व्यक्ति </del>की <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">प्रह्लाद</ins>]] <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">को गोद में लेकर अग्निस्नान करने को कहा। उसने समझा कि ऐसा करने से प्रह्लाद अग्नि में जल जाएगा तथा होलिका बच जाएगी। होलिका ने ऐसा ही किया, किंतु होलिका जल गयी, प्रह्लाद बच गये। इस पर्व को 'नवान्नेष्टि यज्ञपर्व' भी कहा जाता है, क्योंकि खेत से आये नवीन अन्न को इस दिन </ins>[[<ins style="font-weight: bold;
